Thoughtful Thursday: Month by Month

January, the start of a brand new year
Jesus please stay very near.
You know I’m just a sinner saved by grace
I just need to see your smiling face.

February is the month we celebrate love
Who knows more than our God above.
He sent His son to die on a tree
How much greater is His love for me.

March, the windy month and chilly at times
God keeps us close and always reminds.
He tells us of David and how he sinned
But also that God forgave him again.

April claims to bring much needed rain.
We thank him and praise him for the grain.
With our hands we labor and fret,
The increase is God’s and He ain’t done yet.

May is for flowers, red, white and yellow.
Our neighbors we meet with a friendly hello.
All is well in our world as we enjoy our blessings
God has decorated the earth with all its dressings

June we have picnics, swimming and friends.
The time changes and daylight never ends.
Solomon reminds us God is the rose
Of Sharon and the lily of the Valley that grows.

July is a hot one with all its heat.
Shoes are off and we go with bare feet.
The feet of his disciples Jesus did clean
His humility was very plainly seen.

August, we’re suffering with heat and dry.
No rain has fallen for weeks so we cry.
Psalms 46 tells us not to despair
Though the earth be removed, God is still there.

September, fall is here and winter is come.
It snuck in while we were having fun.
It’s a promise to prove God’s love
While the earth is here seasons come above.

October to the world is wicked and scary
Dressing up as goblins, witches and fairies.
A moment’s pleasure may earn you some treats.
It’s a ticket to hell they’re holding your seats.

November awwww, thank you God for all you’ve done
It’s so wonderful that you gave Your only son.
I pray for a clean heart, white as pure snow
That my faith will increase and Your love I will know.

December already, my how fast time does fly.
We celebrate your birth, we cannot deny.
You came as a baby to Mary so dear
We trust you always and your voice we do hear.
