We all have different spiritual gifts. God has given quipped us with diverse skills
and talents that may be used to serve Him.
Yes, some of them are learned, but the reason that we choose to do
different things in our lives is because God gives us desires and specific
gifts that help us to quickly become proficient in certain crafts or
specialties. This is not an issue that should consume a great deal of our
focus. We
understand that these do exist, and God gives different gifts to His children
for His perfect will to be performed.
When everyone fully surrenders to the Lord and perfectly follows after
Him, the Church is able to function properly, free of strife or
contention. It is when people hold back
on God and attempt to perform spiritually, without the power of the Holy Spirit,
that man and his recognition becomes the focus causing those gifts to be
misused. I have found that others will
generally notice our gifts and talents more quickly and accurately than we will
for ourselves; because of our tendency to get a little lifted up in pride,
there is a chance that we could begin to award ourselves with some talents or
gifts that may not be as genuine as we would like to believe. God has created and ordained a perfect
function for each of us in His family. If we would just decide to allow Him to
work in us without even one reservation or limitation, He would use us in the
same way.
I Corinthians 12:1-12:
1Co 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
1Co 12:2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
1Co 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1Co 12:5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
1Co 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
1Co 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
1Co 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
1Co 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
1Co 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
1Co 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
1Co 12:2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.
