Monday's Message: Wise One

Psalm 107 “Wise one”
Text:  Psalm 107:33-43

Based on my study of this chapter, I have arrived at this conclusion: There is no such thing as a good event or an evil event; there are only good outcomes and evil outcomes. If a situation achieves God’s desired results that is a good outcome, and if that set of circumstances does not prove successful, that is an evil outcome. We have discovered how that God, in HIS goodness, will perform wonderful works in the lives of every person to bring them to a place of understanding, and those wonderful works are not always what we would describe as good.

We now have a decision to make! Fear, Feelings, or Faith: which one will we allow to control our actions?

107:33-34. He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground; A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
We must remember the power of God. We cannot take the current circumstances for granted! He can remove His hand of blessing at any time. This truth should motivate us to fully rely on God each and every day.
107:35-36  He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;
On the other side of the same situation, we cannot make a decision to follow God based upon what is currently visible or available. Just as He has the power to destroy, He has the same power to create and restore! That “City of Habitation” represents the church and he is able to carve that out of any place at any time! The Lord builds the church!
107:37-38  And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
Here we are reminded again that God will bless our obedience. It requires faithfulness and effort, not merely the abstinence of iniquity.
107:39  Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
Also, recognize that difficulty and hardship will continue to come against us; because, we have an adversary!
107:40  He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
God is greater than any power that may come against us!
107:41-42  Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
God will call us to follow Him. We must make the choice to go and stay where He leads!
107:43  Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
This is the desire that God has for us! That we would have a Godly vision and as we observe His handiwork we would understand His desired outcome. All the time trusting That He is working for our good and for His glory!

1.   Know that GOD IS GOOD!
2.   Trust God = accept Him – STOP WONDERING!
3.   Obey God = follow Him – DON’T REBEL!
4.   Love God = desire Truth – DON’T BE FOOLISH!
5.   Seek God = Study & Pray – DON’T BE A HARD HEAD!
6.   Fear God = Godliness – BECOME THE WISE CHILD OF GOD!
