Thoughtful Thursday: The Lord's Prayer

Our Father
When you pray this prayer, you are not going downstairs to your parents’ bedroom to explain why you wrecked the family car.  You are actually talking to an almighty powerful omnipresent God that lives in the heavens far above the earth.  You are in the presence of someone who IS and always will be.
This is God the Father we are praying to and He deserves respect and not only that, we should fall on our faces at the very thought of Him even wanting to hear and answer our prayers.
Which art in heaven
He may live far above us, but just as He was in the smoke and flame for the Israelites as they went through the wilderness, He is there for us everywhere we are, He is right there with us.
If you feel like you've gotten away from Him, you'd better look around because it wasn't Him that moved,
It was you.
Hallowed be thy name
Glorified and separated holy beyond imagination.  This is our God that we serve.
Hallowed be thy name
Give Him glory and give Him praise
If you don't know where to start Psalms 150 is excellent
Thy kingdom come
Oh for the days when the trumpet sounds and we will be caught up with Him in the clouds.
I believe He is going to call us each by name as an individual, because if you will notice, when Jesus healed people, that person was the only thing important to Him at that moment.  It's as if the rest of the world has disappeared.
When He calls our name we will be with Him forever
Thy will be done
You know there is only one thing God wants from us.  It is not that tithe check you fight to give, it's not your kids that you somedays wish He would take, no, the one thing God wants is our Will.
He doesn't want s bunch of robots standing around saying "we love you God, you are the best"
No, He wants us to willingly give ourselves, our time, our wants, our needs and yes, even our dreams.  He wants all of them, but He is too much of a gentleman to take it.  Besides, who wants it if it's not real.
On earth as it is in heaven
Can you imagine this earth being run completely and absolutely by Jesus Christ?
That's what the millennial will be like.  He will rule with truth and love.
Give us this day our daily bread
Who are we to even think about asking this unfathomable being for such an insignificant thing such as daily bread?  We can't even feed ourselves. We need to depend on Him for everything.
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
I thought this was a great verse--God forgives us, you know, He throws all our sins in the sea and buries it there.  That is something to be thankful for.
BUT--listen
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
He forgives us the way we forgive others.
How do you forgive?
Oh I've forgiven him/her but I won't ever forgive them.
How much do you forgive?
He forgives us as we forgive others.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
Every once in awhile, God has to prove to us that He's still around.
He has to tell us He loves us often, because we as humans forget
When we fall into temptation He is always right there with you.  I think He smiles when we finally ask for His help.
Just like Peter when he stepped out of the boat and took his eyes off Jesus.  He started sinking just the way we do.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Thank you Almighty God, it's an honor to be able to say:

Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever
AMEN
