Monday's Message: Satan's Devices

Most of us, when we think of Satan, the devil, the person of sin; we think of evil and wickedness,  but I wonder if we ever think of his mindset or as the passage we’ll look at again: his devices.
II Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
His devices:  his mental perception, thought ; an evil  his purpose ; that which he thinks,
I cannot afford to give him the upper hand; because he sure is not ignorant of my mental perception, or the way I think; because he has observed humanity for the last 6000 years.
What are his devices?  What is satan’s mental perception?
I believe we can be sure that he works through our weaknesses.
We know that he deceived Eve, in the very beginning, by his shrewd subtlety. And he worked in the very same line of temptations as we read of in I John.
1John 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
So his devices or his thought process must be putting images or thoughts before us, that our sinful flesh lusts after, and would be swollen with pride because of.
The devil has been at this a while, and he saw his subtle devices work in the life of a woman who was not created with a sinful nature.  I am sure that he knows these devices will work on us.
What we need to learn to do, is to be temperate especially in these areas:  the lust of our flesh, the lust of our eyes, and the pride of our lives; so as not to be caught of guard. So as not to give him any free ground, for which we did not fight to defend.
We know he failed with the sinless Son of God; but he used the same areas of temptation against the Lord Jesus. [Matthew 4: 3 – 10]
Now Jesus is God in the flesh and does not have a sinful flesh as we do; but He also is not ignorant of the enemy’s devices.
You and I need at least to be ready by knowing from what direction he is coming; and what ammo he is using, lest Satan should get an advantage of us.
