Once again, we are continuing with the thought of other
uses for our heart.
Proverbs 4:23 says “Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it are the issues of life.”
The chorus to a song that I heard at teen camp last year,
stands out to me when I think of keeping/guarding your heart.
Guard your heart
Guard your heart
Lock the door and hide the key
From the enemy
Guard your heart
Guard your heart
God saved you and set you apart
So believe and don’t forget whose you are
Guard your heart
The dictionary defines keep as to have or retain
possession of; continue or cause to continue in a specified condition. Once our heart belongs to Jesus, it is our
job as Christians to keep it. What is in
our heart will be directly reflected in what we say and how we live. We should fill it with right and filter it
from wrong. It should be evident to
others that the Lord lives in our heart and we are keeping it for Him.
