Charity cannot be separated from the life of a true
Christian. It is not just part of being
Christ-like, it is the essence the spirit of the life we
hold dear.
It NEVER FAILS: success is guaranteed to those who dedicate
themselves to the Spirit of God, giving Him the opportunity to show charity
through them.
-
It is not possible to live that way in the
power of the flesh!
-
How many of you thought about that lesson this
week? I DID!!
-
Did you endeavor to show charity?
The gift
of Prophecy was used in much greater amounts than tongues, but is no longer
necessary. Some of the greatest men in
the Scriptures were used to prophesy about the things of God, but that was only
necessary before the Bible was completed.
-
Imagine the incredible privilege of God
speaking to you to inform others of future events!
-
Many times prophets were ignored
-
Most times prophets were in Heaven before they
were able to see their prophesies come to pass
The gift
of tongues was a wonderful tool of evangelism, but because God has given us
the complete Bible we now can look in the Book to explain to those who do not
speak our language and simply have it translated.
-
The Bible is NOT an English Book… ours is, but
The Word of God is universal and available to any people who will trust God to
give it to them!
-
“Tongues” as it has been perverted into today
is nothing more than a religious practice that brings attention to those who
are doing it!!
-
It helps no one and accomplishes nothing
-
It is someone attempting to seem spiritual in
the power of his flesh
The gift
of Knowledge is a personal knowledge of God, having met
Him in human form.
-
Time after time in Scripture we see that the
Apostles and other followers of Christ did not understand all that was going
on, or did not pick up on the message that Christ was sharing with them.
-
They would never be able to remember all that
He said without a “transcript” or a
record of the times
Those who had this opportunity would obviously soon die, and not
be around to share their knowledge, but this is the reminder that that
knowledge would no longer be possible.
Christ will return, but to claim His bride not to reveal anything. His Word has given us all that we need.

Corinthians 13:8-10:
1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
