I just
want to thank the dear Lord, and give Him praise again
for His salvation and eternal security!
Salvation is eternal life in heaven; without end, we are in
Christ the moment we are born again, and we read in Ecclesiastes 3:14 “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall
be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God
doeth it, that men should fear before him.”
And we can read in Romans 5:11 “There
is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,…”
1Corinthians 16:9 “For a great door and effectual is opened
unto me, and there are many
adversaries. “
Now, though, as an eternally secure child of God; we have an
enemy. And though Satan can do
absolutely nothing about our going to heaven, once we are saved, he’ll try to do whatever he can do keep us from growing as a
Christian, from being more Christ-like, and from pleasing our Lord in doing the
will of God for our lives.
Paul realized this, as he was used of the Lord to write in
II Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should
get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
Though Paul fully recognized that the Lord had opened a great
and powerful door in the city of Ephesus; he also was experiencing many
adversaries; which were people, or circumstances, or other tools of the devil
to try either to close the doors the Lord had opened, or at least discourage
Paul from going through them.
We must be as discerning as Paul to recognize, that problems
and obstacles, and hardships that come our way as we serve the Lord, does not
mean we are not doing God’s will; neither does it mean the Lord will not help
us, as He has promised to do.
It very often means we are doing right, and will receive
God’s blessing, if we refuse to quit or faint.
Proverbs 24:16 “For a just man falleth seven times, and
riseth up again: …”
