Teen Tuesday: Read your Bible and Pray Daily

One of the most important aspects of being a Christian is reading your Bible and praying every day.  Joshua 1:8 says, "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."  God tells us in this verse, that we are to meditate on His Word and to obey it by reading and studying it daily.  By studying His Word, we are able to grow in our faith and in our spiritual walk with Him.  Today Christians all over the world have stopped reading their Bible, because they think that it is not necessary if they attend church. God says His Word is important in the everyday Christian life.  The Bible is a necessity in the life of a Christian in order for us to grow in the faith.  For instance, when you buy a bed frame, there is always an instruction manual in order for you to be able to put it together.  In our every day Christian life, God gave us His Word as our instruction manual.  The problem is that most Christians do not follow it.  God's Word is our guideline and we need to use it and to apply it in order for us to become better Christians, as well as become stronger in the faith.  Without reading and praying each and everyday, the Christian will spiritually dry up and wither away.  The Christian cannot win a spiritual battle against Satan and his dark angels without the right weapons.  The Bible is our weapon and prayer is our power to defeat these forces of evil.  Because of this, it is so very important for all Christians to unite in praying and reading the Bible in order to survive in this wicked world.
