Monday's Message: Bear His Resemblance

So much is said about Adam’s sin in the garden. And truly, the sins of Adam and Eve, in succumbing to the deceiving temptation of Satan were grievous, and much was lost because of them.  But everything that was lost by the first Adam, was gained back by the second Adam, the Lord Jesus Christ; the only begotten Son of God.
I Corinthians 15:42  So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43  It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44  It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45  And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46  Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47  The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48  As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49  And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
This passage deals with our resurrected in relation to the likeness of Jesus’ resurrected body. All of that which is first is as a result of he which was first; Adam. ( Death, corruption, dishonor, weakness.)  All of that which is second is all to the glory of Him Who was second; (life, in-corruption, glory, power).
We cannot put a time table on it, but we can have assurance that one day, everything we lost in Adam’s sin, we’ll have again because of Jesus’ life, righteousness, and His finished work of the cross!
The Scripture even teaches us that our resurrected body will bear the image, or likeness of He which is heavenly.
Oh, how our lives should bear His resemblance today, who name the name of Christ as Saviour.
