Daniel 2:19 “Then
was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the
God of heaven.”
Daniel
is having a problem here. King
Nebuchadnezzar has said that he will kill all the wise men in Babylon if they
cannot tell him his dream and the interpretation of it. Daniel asked the king for more time, and he
and his friends begin to pray for the dream and the interpretation. When God answers his prayer, he praises and
blesses God for the answer. Not only did
Daniel bless God for answering his prayer, the Bible tells us exactly what he
said in the next three verses. Too often
we pray and ask God for things, and when He answers our pray, we forget to
praise Him for it. Praise should be one
of the things that we do when we pray. Why
do we so often forget to praise Him when he answers our prayer? Do we like when we do things for others and
they do not thank us for it? Don't
forget all of the answers to prayer that God has given to us, and praise him
for them.
